Durastill automatic water distiller with stainless steel storage tank

Why distill?

Clear doesn’t always mean pure.

Distillation boils water and collects the clean steam, leaving dissolved minerals, metals and other contaminants behind — removing up to 99.9% of dissolved solids.

Boil & condense

Water is heated to steam, then cooled back to liquid — impurities stay in the boiling chamber.

Built from stainless

Durastill heads and storage tanks are stainless steel, made for years of daily use.

Automatic options

Automatic-fill models plumb into your water line and keep the tank topped up for you.

Questions & answers

Durastill water distiller FAQ

How does a Durastill water distiller work?

A Durastill heats water to boiling in a stainless steel chamber. The steam rises and is cooled back into liquid, leaving dissolved minerals, metals, salts and other contaminants behind in the boiling chamber. The distilled water collects in a storage tank, ready to drink.

What does water distillation remove?

Distillation removes up to 99.9% of dissolved contaminants, including minerals, heavy metals and salts. Compounds that boil at a lower temperature than water can travel with the steam, which is why a carbon filter is often added after distillation. Durastill offers an optional activated charcoal filter with its remote faucet system.

Which size Durastill distiller do I need?

Estimate how many gallons of drinking and cooking water you use each day. 8 gallon-per-day (GPD) models such as the 30J4, 3020 and 3040 suit most homes. 12 GPD models such as the 46C4, 4640 and 4696 suit larger households or heavier use like coffee, cooking and pets. The 42 GPD Durastill 4280 is built for offices, clinics, labs and other commercial use.

What is the difference between manual-fill and automatic Durastill models?

Manual-fill models (such as the 30H, 30H4, 46A and 46H4) are filled by hand and need no plumbing. Automatic models (such as the 30J, 46C, 3040, 4640 and 4696) connect to a water line, refill themselves and keep the storage tank topped up without attention.

Are 220/240-volt Durastill models available?

Yes. The Durastill 4640 and 46C4 are available in 220/240-volt versions, and the 42CWDH commercial head is available in 208 or 240 volts. Standard models run on 110 volts.

How much does a Durastill water distiller cost?

At WaterDistillers.com, Durastill distiller heads start at $1,599 (30H), complete countertop systems start at $1,629 (30H1), automatic systems with storage tanks run roughly $2,400–$3,100, and the 42 GPD 4280 commercial system is $6,398. Prices as of October 2026.
